Dr Peter Minnis BSc (Hons.) MBChB DIMC (RCSEd)

Course Founder and Director

Peter is an anaesthetic registrar in the Oxford School of Anaesthesia. His passion for medical education inspired him to design and develop the OxViva revision course.

As a military doctor, Peter has developed extensive experience in pre-hospital emergency medicine whilst deployed with the Royal Navy across the globe, and holds the Diploma in Immediate Medical Care. He has formal teaching experience as a Battlefield Advanced Trauma Life Support (BATLS) instructor.

Peter qualified in medicine from the University of Birmingham in 2018, and was awarded a First Class Honours degree in Physiology from UCL.

Dr Luke Wynne BSc (Hons.) MBChB (Hons.) MSc (Distinction)

Programme Director

Luke is an anaesthetic registrar in the North Central London Deanery with an impressive academic background. He graduated in 2018 from the University of Birmingham with First Class Honours in Biomedical Science, an MBChB (Hons.), and a Master’s degree in Medical Oncology with Distinction. With his strong science background, he has a keen interest in basic sciences and excelled in his FRCA Primary examinations.

His training in anaesthesia and critical care has been shaped by extensive experience in Australia, where he developed comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in each discipline. Luke’s academic excellence, combined with his teaching experience as a FUSIC mentor and ALS instructor, makes him well-suited to contribute to the OxViva course, helping trainees excel in their exams and develop a deeper understanding of the core sciences.

Dr Tahir Ali MBBS PGCME FHEA FRCA FFICM

Clinical Advisor

Dr Tahir Ali is a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. He holds multiple roles within the NHS, including Clinical Governance lead, lead for quality improvement and clinical guidelines.

Dr Ali has extensive experience in medical education, having run numerous courses, such as ‘Bronchocare’. He has experience as a Faculty Tutor for intensive care medicine residents, and is an examiner for the European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine (EDIC).

Dr Rahim Esmail MBBS

Director of Simulation

Razz is a Specialty Registrar in Anaesthetics in the prestigious North Central London deanery.

Dr Esmail was one of the highest ranking doctors in the FRCA Primary exam, he has delivered lecture series nationally and globally, and excels in helping candidates to prepare for exams. Dr Esmail is currently pursuing his special interest in transfer and retrieval medicine, and actively leads simulation events.

Dr Esmail has sat on multiple medical education faculties, and is well versed in preparing candidates for success in exams.
